WPM Lab’s recent graduate Ganesh Patil, who defended in Aug 2023, has won the first place (joint) in the USNC/TAM’s 5MT PhD Thesis in Mechanics Competition.
The U.S. National Committee for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (USNC/TAM), on behalf of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, organized a Virtual Thesis in Mechanics Competition. Ganesh presented his PhD work on “nonlinear phononic material with rough contacts“. The presentation from the finalists can be accessed here. Ganesh presents at 59.50 in the video. Congrats Ganesh!
