Prof. Matlack, Ganesh and Betsy presented at ASA Conference

Prof. Matlack gave an invited talk at the “Acoustical metamaterials” session at the 182nd Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA) held in Denver, Colorado May 2022. Prof. Matlack presented our lab’s work on “Controlling cylindrical waves using effective phononic crystals“.

Ph.D. students Ganesh Patil and Betsy Smith also presented their work at the conference in the special session “Nonlinear Metamaterials and Phononics”. Ganesh presented his research on “Experimental study of nonlinear waves in phononic materials with rough contacts” and Betsy presented her work on “Wave propagation in a continuum phononic material with geomaterial-inspired nonlinearity.

Ganesh organized the special session on “Nonlinear Metamaterials and Phononics” at the conference.
