Paper accepted for publication in Physical Review E

Ph.D. candidate Ganesh Patil’s recent work on strongly nonlinear wave dynamics of continuum phononic material with rough contacts has been accepted for publication in Physical Review E. This work presents new wave phenomena such as acoustic resonances and the formation of stegotons that are achievable in continuum phononic material with discrete nonlinearity. These behaviors allow phononic material to acts as an energy absorber as well as a propagator. Congrats Ganesh!
