Professor Kathryn Matlack received a CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation. The awarded proposal is titled “Controlling Nonlinear Wave Propagation in Metastructures with Contact Interfaces.” Under this award, WPML will conduct fundamental research to uncover the relationship between the mechanical response of interfaces in metastructures and nonlinear mechanical wave propagation.
